Pack-A-Pack

Your Space Is Limited

There should be several things that you should factor in when deciding what to put inside your backpack and what to leave at the house. Trees do not emit an active Wi-Fi signal, so there is no need to bring out your tablet or laptop device. Camping is about the essentials, so let's focus on those.

Neccessities

There are two things that you will absolutely need to take with you when you go on an adventure: food and water. Without these two basic neccessities of life, an adventurer will sucomb to exaustion and dehydration in less than three days. It is important to keep a stocked first aid kit in your backpack as well as at least one extra pair of socks.

Near-Neccessities

Near-neccessities are those things that we can live without, but that make things easier on you in the wilderness. These items include kindling, fire starters, tools (such as knives or entrenchment tools), sleeping bags, tents, and firearms. Tools should always be well maintained to ensure that they do their job when they need to.

Extra Weight

Extra weight are those super conveniences such as coolers of cold meat and drinks, gas cooking stoves, electronics other than a smart phone or GPS device, (for safety) and sets of pots and pans. These items actually seem to distract from the simplicity that comes from experiencing nature in her wholeness by bringing the inside world out to the wilderness. Gather wood and build a fire!
