Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite
Depending on your locations terrain and climate, it may be benificial to think about what you will need for sleeping accomodations such as tents as well as sleeping bags rated for the climate you'll be visiting. This is for both comfort and safety while sleeping.
Accomodations
Accomodations are essentially enclosures, something between you and the bugs. When choosing accomadations, you should never bring more than you need: enough for you and, if you like, your gear. One option that many adventureres use is the classic tent. When choosing a tent, you should choose one only the size you need for you and your gear. Anything more is just extra weight, unless you are packing for more than one.
One of our personal favorites is the hammock with a rain sheild and bug net. These are great because they are light, have no poles to snag on things, keep you dry and bug free, keep you off the ground, compact, and installs with only two eye screws or quick knots.
Sleeping Bags
Sleeping bags are an essential in cold weather climates; even many deserts drop below freezing at night. Sleeping bags have temperature ratings, and you should choose one that is closely related to the one you'll be visiting. A sleeping bag that is too heavy can cause sweating or overheating and dehydration while on that is too light could result in frostbite or hypothermia.
