Choosing the Right Pack
Why It Matters
Choosing a pack is far more than just picking the coolest looking backpack you found on Google. Many factors go into purchasing the right pack for you and your adventure. Follow the navigation menu on the left to get yourself up to speed on the basics such as sizing and packing for the weather.
One of the most important factors is determining the proper bag size for your body height. If you get a backpack that is too tall or short, it could cause unnecessary pain and injury during and after your adventures by changing how the weight is distributed across the skeletomuscular frame.
Secondly, depending on what kind of adventures you will be going on and how much you plan on carrying, you will have to make the decision on whether to purchase an internal frame or external frame backpack to fit your personal desires.
Trip length, climate and terrain are very important as well, as some landscapes are more difficult to travel than others, such as rocky land and ledges. Being in a cold environment may also mean you'll need more space for that extra layer or thermals. And you always have to remember to pack for a few more days than you plan on staying.
